From what I've heard, I'm going to have quite a difficult time. Is this just a myth or am I really going to have a hard time?

I was supost to graduate this year, but am short two credits. So would have to take one extra semester of 2 classes. Well, I still have this semester to finish up and I don't know if i'm gonna pass all of it. I was considering finishing up the classes I need in homeschooling like online or something. But I have a few questions...

If I ever decide to go to college, can I?
Can I get a diploma?
Can you do it online?

I had some more questions, but I can't remember em. If I remember i'll add em later.

We are trying to decide on which math to go with for my daughters 5th grade year. I have used Saxon up until now but I believe the manipulatives in Math You See will be something to keep her engaged with the lesson. What do you think?

Those of you who home school, how do you juggle your schedule of work (if both parents work or single parent works) and kids lessons?
If you do work, where do your kids stay when you're working? Are they able to do the work on their own or do you have to coach them through it to make sure it gets done?

I'm going to be a freshman in high school next year, and this past year I have completely lost intrest in all the social things about school. I really don't care about friends and what I wear and how I look when all my life I have. Anyway, I really wish that I didn't have to go to school for 7 hours a day when I could get a tutor and do my studies in 3 hours, without all the extra bullcrap. So, my question is, does anyone who used to go to public school prefer homeschooling to public?

Also, the school needs to be accredited and needs to have many graduates go on to top colleges and universities, preferably Ivy Leagues. Thanks - - =)

I address both groups because of the large number of publicschool teachers that come to this site to check things out from time to time.
My question is, what does it mean to you when someone says, "it takes a village" to raise a child, and what do you think that phrase means to others, especially the decision makers in the US?
If your view differs from that of the decision makers, do you think the two groups will ever be reconciled, or will the gap continue to grow?

I am living in a foreign country and my oldest has just started grade one this year. He is learning the culture and language of this country as well as social skills he needs, but he's getting no idea of his own parents culture. I'm looking for a website that has some info on how to teach elementary English, western culture and the like. Also, some ideas for a model curriculum for elementary school students (Ex. what he should know by grade 2 etc.) or sites/books I get access would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am a 7th grader that does a distance learning program. I complete a week's worth of work and send it in to my teacher by mail. I teach myself through textbooks. I am very worried about college. I know several students have gone to Ivy Leagues by doing the program. I am a huge tennis player, but I have a dream to go to an Ivy League. The school program that I am in now only has Honors classes, not AP courses. I do not know if I should go to a private regular school next year. I have straight A+. I do not know what to do. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks!
