Write a letter of complaint. Follow the rules for a business letter, and use the full-block style. The
complaint may be about anything you wish (such as malfunctioning equipment, poor building
maintenance, or disruptive noises from a nearby office). You can base your letter on a true
experience, or you can make up all the details you need.

So many people say that public schooled kids are screwing up a lot (i.e. drugs, sex, violence, etc....) then why don't people want to help these kids get back on the right track.
I see this a lot with adults, all they do is complain about the problem and not do anything to help it.
Do you think this is one of the reasons so many kids are screwing up, they have little or no support from the adults.

Adults focus more on the "good" kids of the world, what about the "screw ups"?

The reason why I'm posting this in the home schooling section is I want some feedback from home schoolers. I'm NOT posting this to try and start a fight (even tho I admit, in the past I have tried to start arguments about home schooling).

Why or why not?

I went to a public school from kg-8, then from gr.9-11, I went to a private school, then I took a few years off and now I am doing grade 12 through correspondence. it is not exactly home schooling, but I kind of teach myself, with help from my superiors (through the internet.) I like studying from home because I can work at my own pace and I don't have to worry about what other students' think about me. Also, since all my assignments are done from home, I can do them at my own time, there is no set time I have to go, which is good, because I volunteer during the day also.

Am considering teaching my son next year because of his problems with behavior. Anyone have experience with a self paced, christian based home school curriculum?

2007-03-12 11:56:16 · 5 answers · asked by PJ 2

Does anyone in the UK teach at home.
What age did you start teaching your child?
What reasons did you have for choosing this option??
Do you find it hard and do you think you made the right decision?? Do you get help??
I'm asking this because I am looking into homeschooling my 13 yr old son who is on the Autistic Scale.
He is bullied terribly at school (mainstream) and is so unhappy.
The school is useless when it comes to bullying, and I don't want my son to remember his schooling for all the wrong reasons.
I am just trying to find out as much as I can to make sure I am doing the right thing.
Thanks in advance.

Okay I've been trying to go into home school for some time now, but the counselor says I can't because it full. But then my friend goes and see's if she can can go into it, and they let in no problem! I don't think it's fair. Why won't they let me in? So I was wondering is there another way into it besides going through the school? Because I think my counselor hates me! Even my mom talked to school/ counselor about it. Help? .... Also personally, I think it's because my dad works for the government and they don't wanna lose any money by letting me go. Because they make more money from kids' parents who work for the government. =/

I am 21, and I am completing my grade 12 high school credits (through distance learning) and trying to receive my diploma this way. The reason I don't go to an adult school is because I volunteer and run a side business with my husband. Please don't tell me "you married too young" and what not, because my question is about school, not marriage. Anyways, I took 2 years off of school when I was 17, and I started taking my courses again when I was 19. I'm going to be 22 soon, and I am not done my courses yet. Some people ask me why it is taking me so long to finish my courses, but the way I see it is, the more I concentrate on my work, the better marks I get, so I would rather do that then rush it, and get lower grades. Even my teachers suggested to me, take your time with your work, you should be in no hurry. I still have about 6 credits to complete. Is it Ok that I am 21 and still doing high school courses?
