I just mailed out my application for grad school. I want to do a PhD. in entomology.

Pros: I finish up my master's in bio in May. I've had an intership with the federal government for 2 years, I have a 3.74 GPA, I serve on a couple committees, I'll have 2-3 publications by the time I graduate. The head of the lab I want to work in said she was interested in meeting with me.

Cons: my GREs weren't the greates but not horrible either, I have a lot of course definciencies since my bachelors was an arts degree.

What are my chances?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category.

In 2003 or 2004, a boy appeared on Late Show with David Letterman who was accepted to college at the age of 10 or so. He said he would pursue four Ph.D.s in Biology, Political Science, Astronomy, and something else (I forgot).

Does anyone know what his name is?

I personally hate when you go to sell back books. Nothing displeases me more when they tell you;
1) The professor has not requested this book for next semester
2) The class is no longer going to be offered
3) there is a new edition coming out for this book.

One semester I spent $500 on books and got only $10 back... err

Someone once told me "you get raped when you buy your books and then you get sodomized when you go to sell them back"

So lets here it what is your least favorite time of the semester?

I'm a senior at high school and I'm considering being a pharmacist as a career but I'm still confused about what I need to do in terms of pre-pharmacy education. I basically know that you have to take atleast two years of pre-pharmacy study and four years of graduate study.

Is it necessary to attend a school that offers a pre-pharmacy program in order to continue at a graduate school?

Is it recomended?

What major should I take if a school doesn't offer a pre-pharmacy program?

Is it harder to get into a graduate pharmacy school if you don't take a pre-pharmacy program?

What schools do you recommend that are in california for pre-pharmacy study?

I think to be able to have higher education (undergraduat/graduate) is luxury and the best thing one can get and enjoy.Satisfaction is enormous from the process of learning about yourself and the world or profession.
What is it for you?

I just spent the past two hours reading through only a few selected "Best Answers" of yours, and I hold any answer that you may have for me to high esteem.
I am currently a junior undergrad at a state university, and my major is liberal studies. (Concentrations in business, social sciences, and languages) Ultimately, I would like to go to grad school to get my MBA. I have quite a few questions, but here are a few, and if you would allow me to email you, I would be so greatly appreciative!
For now, can someone get a MBA with a specialization in International Business? Or is that an entirely different Master's degree?
What universities (or rather, graduate programs) are the best for this kind of concentration? I am VERY interested in the international arena, so I would prefer a graduate program with that specialization.
Also, it would be my DREAM to study abroad. How much would you recommend getting a degree from a European university? Maybe even a univ in China for bus.?

I'm a student at a state university. I'm wanting to take my harder classes in the summer. I'm wanting to take those summer classes at a community college because I've heard the classes are easier there, not because of financial reasons. My concern is that by taking the classes at the community college, would I be limiting myself in any way when it comes to job prospects? For example, would I be inferior to other job applicants because I had taken classes at a community college? Is there anything else I should be concerned about?

I am a highschool freshman considering a transfer to a private highschool. The school I'm at now is considered one of the best in the country; academic standards for students are set very high. Sometimes, competition gets brutal enough so that a senior who might have been accepted to X at another school, gets admitted to a community college, because of a low GPA. Classes are large as well, ranging from 35-40 kids/class.

Currently, I have a GPA of 3.5, where I'd probably be getting a 4.0 at another school, but it would bother me to be in a less-than-prestigious highschool. (That's just the way I've been programmed, don't ask.)

It seems to me my only alternative is a private school where more focus will be on me. The one I'm looking at appears to be just as competitive, but the small class sizes must help. Problem is, I don't know which might be better in putting me on the path towards a good (possibly, Ivy League) college. This is a big step I'd be taking; any comments will help.

This doesn't apply to me, because I'm over the age of 21 and can live off campus, but the college campus policy says if you are under 21 and have completed fewer than I think 30 hours, you are required to live on campus in the dorms, your first 2 years. But...what if you are transsexual? Do they have to accomodate you if this is the college policy that you HAVE to live in the dorms?
