I just spent the past two hours reading through only a few selected "Best Answers" of yours, and I hold any answer that you may have for me to high esteem.
I am currently a junior undergrad at a state university, and my major is liberal studies. (Concentrations in business, social sciences, and languages) Ultimately, I would like to go to grad school to get my MBA. I have quite a few questions, but here are a few, and if you would allow me to email you, I would be so greatly appreciative!
For now, can someone get a MBA with a specialization in International Business? Or is that an entirely different Master's degree?
What universities (or rather, graduate programs) are the best for this kind of concentration? I am VERY interested in the international arena, so I would prefer a graduate program with that specialization.
Also, it would be my DREAM to study abroad. How much would you recommend getting a degree from a European university? Maybe even a univ in China for bus.?

Hi! Thanks for the kind words. But your faith in my expertise is misplaced......... when it comes to B-schools.

What I *can* tell you is only general knowledge stuff. So here goes.

Yes, many MBA programs have specializations in International Business. There are many excellent B-schools with this track, including the Haas School at UC Berkeley, Sloan at MIT, Kellogg at Northwestern, Stern at NYU, and Tepper at Carnegie Mellon.

I'm not sure if Wharton (at U Penn) or Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, or Stanford have International Business concentrations, but they are traditional powerhouses in the B-school world.

There are also some superb B-schools abroad, also with the option of specialization in international business, such as SDA-Bocconi in Italy, Schulich at York U in Canada, IIM in India, and Nanyang in Singapore.

My best advice is to search the Business Week rankings, learn about the innovative programs at the many B-schools they profile.
And shoot for a terrific GMAT score.

As I'm sure you know, generally, the best B-schools prefer to admit students with serious experience in the business world. But I've been reading lately that in order to recruit more women, some B-schools are easing up on their work experience expectations.

And one more thing:
Look for an answer from "Taranto." He's the business guru here in Higher Ed on Yahoo! Answers. I'd trust what he has to say MUCH more than anything I'd say on this topic. :)

Yes, you can get an MBA in International Business. That is a hot field. I recommend you meet with an academic and/or career counselor at the college of your choice and ask them these questions. Also speak to your professors. They may have more information for you, as well. Also, did you know that you can click on the flags of foreign countries (bottom of screen) and ask questions abroad?
