I'm actually looking to get some information on the essential steps of a door manufacturing process for my interview next week. I really don't know what technical questions they might ask me, so I'd appreciate anything you all can tell me!

The doorframe needs to be measured, top to base on the left and right sides. , across the top the middle and the base and check for square by measuiring diagonally top left top to right base, right top to left base.

ALWAYS measure TWICE, or else you will be wrong

Customer selects door type and hardware ( hinges, knobs and inserts). You can have solid timber doors ( for outside facing) and hollow core doors ( inside doors).

Give measurements to production who will usually deduct 10 mm( 3/8 inch) of all your measurements and they will make the door as you specified.

Be aware you will never get a truly square door frame and some can be trouble. A good fitter will usually be able to make them fit but the process all starts with the correct measurements being taken.

If it is measured wrong it will NEVER fit.
