If a complaint is filed against a defendant and that defendant moves for summary judgment before the 20 days has expired for filing his answer, does the time limit for filing the answer change?
For example, can the defendant wait until a ruling is made on the summary judgment before filing his answer, or must he still file his answer within 20 days of receiving the complaint?

I need this for a class I'm in. So please be a wordy as you'd like and put in personal stories if you'd like. Also, please put your name (it can be fake if you'd like) so I can quote you, first and last, and what school year you are in or if you have graduated.

Have you ever transfered to a 4 year school from a community college? If you have:
Why did you do it-
What were some obsticles-
Was it worth it-
Do you know others who have not transfered-
What happened to them-
What is the best thing about having transfered-
Do you have any advice for anyone who will or may transfer? What is it -
Anything else you'd like to say about this?

I am a biochemistry major looking to get into a phD program in molecular or developmental biology. I have a 3.30 GPA from a 2nd tier school and my verbal GRE scores are also mediocre.

(GRE: 530 verbal, 760 quantitative, 5.0 analytical).

However, I have 1.5yrs of full-time research work and 3 excellent letters of recommendation from people who I know think highly of my research capabilities.

I am also going to graduate on time, within the traditional 4yrs, even though I took a year off (got accepted to a year-long research fellowship) although I'm not sure if that helps any.

Also, none of the 3 references are my professors. Does that hurt my chances? Two are from scientist's who I've worked directly with and the third is my advisor who knows me personally and is very well respected in the science community. All 3 are phDs and published.

Also, I am female and a US citizen (not minority, though). I'll also need funding.

Help?

I recently decided to go back to school to earn a degree in a field that I TRULY have an interest in. I have a BS and a MPA, both of which helped me to some dgree in my lifein public service. I recently retired (at 40) and I'm looking to start a new career. I started another Grad program but I'm being told by some people that I should not waste my time, rather go for the Ph. D. Are two Master's a waste of time?

Anyways, the top 10 books I have read so far would have to be Tipping Point, Freakeconomics, The Tao of Pooh, Catch-22, Tuesday with Morrie, The Game, Ecology of Commerce, Art of Happiness, What Smart Students Know, and The Ape in the Corner Office. So what are the top 10 books that shape your life any why? Have fun :)!

Ever since grade nine, I have known that I want to be an environmental engineer because I enjoy/am good at science and applying it to the real world and I am interested in the environment. Well, my biology teacher this year thinks that that is beneath me and that my brain could be put to better use. I never thought that I even had the brains to have a Ph.D or whatever, but I guess I do and I should really be putting them to use. What would be a cutting edge career involving high education that would really help the world?
