Higher Education (University +) - October 2006

I'm of working-poor class; too much income (on paper, anyway) to get financial aide, so I'm reliant on loans while finishing my undergrad degree. Can US loan programs be used for study in Canada? Are there hidden expenses for US students? Are we eligible for fellowships and/or TA/RA positions, or do Canadians get first preference?

i am currently attending a university and would like to know the following:

if I were to graduate with a major in human biology, what are the possible career options with that major in particular? the reason for my question is... i am hoping to become a dentist.. and go into the medical field, but if my plans were to change.. what job can i have? also, if i should minor in anything, what should it be? do you recommend having a minor at all?

My son wishes to earn a scholarship (wrestling) to Mich. State...Because I wish for him to explore his options...I need to know what I can do to introduce scouts and/or schools to him. He has good grades and works hard. I hope someone can point me into the right direction.

I know I am poor, so I try not to notice what other people have. But sometimes I just can't help it. Like I can't help but notice that everyone else on campus seems to have a cell phone and think nothing of it, when here I don't even have one because I cn't afford it. Other people probably have parents who pay their bills, but my parents can't do that. They are both unemployed, and this past May my mother moved from Maryland to Troy, NY and is living with a woman who hates me. In addition, I had no choice but to come with her when she moved since I had nowhere else to go, and much of my stuff that I was able to take with me remains in the NY apartment but the woman who my mother is living with will not allow me to return to the apartment even to get it. And other students here can drive and have their own cars and their parents are living together in a house in the area. But you know, houses in this area are so darn expensive and jobs are so hard to find. And it seems like all

There is only one local PhD program (and that is an hour away) in Communication, and I am not sure I can get in there, but I am already teaching at a college (with my masters) so I am not really able to up and move to get another degree. Any ideas?
