I am doing a school report and need information concerning the religions and economic backgrounds of Cubans, Mexican Americans, Central Americans (Brazil, Dominican Republic...) and Puerto Ricans.

By 'backgrounds' I am referring to their 'homeland' religion and economics vs. their American religions and economic standings.

all had indigenous religions.
Mayans were a very famous culture with their own religion.and that's one area of Mexico.
Aztecs again originals conquered.
Christians came in and conquered. each area separately.
best way since you want economics of all too... look up each individually on a university website or one with .edu so you can better trust the information.
this is a huge assignment as all those countries have very very different histories .

there is also Santeria; a preChristian religion that basically "hid out" disguised within Catholicism.
Similarly, Yoruba is an African religion that took root in the Carribean; I believe it also made inroads on the mainland (including Brazil) but I'm not 100 percent certain how much so.

I'm not really sure what you mean, but about 98% of Hispanics are Roman Catholic...and the vast majority are poor. I don't really get what you mean by religious and economic "backgrounds"

most of the people in Latin America r catholic... but not all of them
