Help writing a cover letter....?

Im applying to study for economic history at graduate level...but i dont know where to start!

why would you need a cover letter to apply for a university course?? but anyways you can always use MS WORD templates for cover letters for that!

is there any application forms that you can fill out?
if there is not, ring the organisation and find out how to apply for the course.
