how does the epilogue in crime and ounishment compare to the rest of the novel?

Fyodor Dostoevsky's crime and punishment epilogue is slightly different from the rest of the novel, and i need to know if this is a good thing of a bad thing.

It is not a good or bad thing. It is written after the novel is completed.
