I'm so worried, I'm almost crying, I just found out that my college suspended me for a year (for going below the minimum GPA). I desperately do not want my parents to find out, can they find out without my permission? Thanks!

I attened Foothill College which is on a quarter system and I am transferring the units to Antelope Valley College which is on the semester system. SDSU website said to multiply the quarter units by .66 or 2/3 but is that the same thing for every college or does each college use other methods?

I recently paid over $1000 for tuition and books for two classes in order to get the need pre-req's for nursing school and I have yet to get them all. If it were not for federal aid, and student loans I would not be able to afford the education that will ultimately allow me to have the life I know I can make for myself. I know there are schools that cost much more which is the primary reason that I am attending a junior college. So why does it cost more to matriculate the same degree that was attained a decade ago for a fraction of the price?

I expected to help with my children college education, I did not expect the children to choose expensive schools and room and board. My expectatiions were that the cost would be within the means of both parents. My ex has remarried a person who has a large income and they selected an instate school less than an hour from their home that is very expensive and just room and board is over 10K per year. I never expected "cost of an education" to include room and board. I expected also to have some say in the school based on my ability to pay.

I know it depends and varies...but does FAFSA ever pay the full tuition for a University, or do they only take care of a small portion of it?
