It is not just the education. People who attend Universities tend to be well-rounded, more tolerant of others and their ideas, have more mature thought processes, and hold their liquor better.

It looks education in general has eluded you if you're asking a question that starts with a lower-case letter... and contains no verb whatsoever. So, one answer would be, an education is important so that we may communicate easily with one another.
A college education opens up many more doors in terms of what sort of employment you can seek, and the average salary of a college-educated person is considerably higher than that of someone without one.
