i have to build a model of gallium (ga) for science. It should be made out of household materials, but i can do a little shopping. anything as far as like sprinkler equipment or something would work.

the basic parts i need are:
1. 31 protons---ANYTHING will work
2. 39 neutrons----ANYTHING will work
3. 4 progressively larger rings for the 4 energy levels or shells.
3. 31 electrons to fit on the rings. i need 31 here.

one plan i had was to use bolts stuck into a stryafome ball as protons and neutrons then washers as electrons. I really have no idea what to use for the rings.

also, it has to be strong so no candy models or anything. my science teacher doesn't want to have a bunch of protons rolling around.

thanks
please be creative.

ANYTHING works

ok i am doing ok in my college classes, a little above a 3.0 average for each class. i'm a freshman. uhh i bought books for my classes, but they're Ebooks. the problem is i guess they've expired because they refuse to open. every time i try only the glossary opens. if i try to open a chapter a box pops up then it freezes. basically i can't get into my ebook because of a problem with my computer
my mom said this weekend she can get someone to pick me up. we don't have a car that'll make it ALL the way to where i am. we stay in a small town with no airport. the greyhound is not running where i stay.
so basically i can skip 2 of my finals and go home this saturday. i can go home for free on saturday without my mom or me paying anything because her friend is coming down here on saturday. i don't think i'm going to pass my finals because my ebooks won't open, and i can't buy my last 2 chapters because of my pay schedule. i changed my degree, and the classes i'm taking aren't needed???

Hi. I am a first-grade teacher and I have a room parent who is always bringing in treats for the kids, buying supplies for our classroom, and helping with crafts. I know she is doing this because she values her daughter's education (and she realizes teacher don't have the funds to buy all this stuff themselves).

Last time she brought in treats, my students expressed a desire to get her a little gift because she is always helping us. I already had them make thank-you cards for her a few months ago. Does anyone have any great ideas of a little thank-you gift we could give her, maybe around Christmas time? (I know this isn't necessary -- I just think it's great that the students want to express their appreciation and I want to encourage that. It's not really appropriate for it to be an expensive gift, as the reason she is buying stuff for the classroom is that she knows I don't have the money to purchase it all. It would be great if the kids could make something.)

I know for sure I want to be a teacher. I love working with kids, and other people, I have been a tutor for many years, and I love the schedule the career offers. (yes I know they don;t get paid much, but I don't care)
My problem is I don't really know what subjects I am passionate about to teach? I do like spanish, but I don't think I'll want to major in Spanish in college, maybe minor. So should I be an elementary school teacher and minor in spanish because I live in CA where there are a lot of hispanics?
advice!!

Fright is a noun and apparently has no plural form.
If you add '-en' , it changes to "frighten" which is its verb form
If you add '-en' plus '-ed' to "frightened" ,it can be a past tense verb , but more likely, its an adjective.

Are there any other English words with this utterly bizzare formulation? Does it come from German or what?
Thanks

My parents are divorced and I'm estranged from my dad, so I don't know so much about him. My mom said she attended college but dropped out before earning her degree. Does that make me a first generation student? I know that some of the colleges I'm applying to takes this into consideration during their application process, but I don't want to say something without knowing what it means for sure and end up jeopardizing my chances and be considered "dishonest." Please help. And please tell me how sure you are of the answer.

This is from Chapter 9, Exercise 9-4, #37 of Fundamentals of Technical Mathematics (2nd edition): The formula for compound interest is A = P(1+i)^n, where A = amount after n interest periods, P = principal (the initial amount), and i = interest rate per period. How many years will it take for money to double when it is compounded yearly at 6 percent per year? (Hint: Let A = 2P.)
