I know for sure I want to be a teacher. I love working with kids, and other people, I have been a tutor for many years, and I love the schedule the career offers. (yes I know they don;t get paid much, but I don't care)
My problem is I don't really know what subjects I am passionate about to teach? I do like spanish, but I don't think I'll want to major in Spanish in college, maybe minor. So should I be an elementary school teacher and minor in spanish because I live in CA where there are a lot of hispanics?
advice!!

You should think about what age you are most comfortable working with and also what subjects you would be most interested in teaching.

You might want to teach middle or high school if:
-- you have a subject you really love that you would like to teach in-depth.
-- you like working with students who are more mature and independent.
-- you are comfortable handling more difficult behavior issues (rebellion, drugs, gangs, etc.)
-- you want to help students in their formative teenage years

You might want to teach elementary school if:
-- you have a lot of patience
-- you want students who love and appreciate you
-- you enjoy doing crafts and projects

As far as the subject to major in, you should choose whatever you are best at and whatever interests you most. That being said, there is always a big need for good secondary math and science teachers. If you like math and science, that may be a good way to go.

If you already have a background in Spanish, it would be great to continue it in college as a minor. There is always a need for bilingual teachers. You will probably find that most of your students will be able to speak English well (depending on where you end up teaching), but having a strong Spanish background will help you engage your Spanish-speaking students more deeply and also help you communicate with the parents (who are much more likely not to speak English well).

Elementary ed with a minor in spanish sounds good. You may also want to check out ESL certifiction (english as a second language.) You would be teaching english language and the elementary subjects in english but have some students where english is not their native language. That would incorporate elementary ed with the spanish and would make you much more marketable. It may not get you more money (which you said wasn't your goal anyways), but it may help get you in to a district you want to teach. They would probably take someone with ESL over someone who didn't have it, and it incorporates the things you mentioned you enjoyed.

Actually, I think in california they may use the term ELD (english language development) for ESL. It would be the same thing. Check with your department of education if you would be interested.

first of all, you're nicely interior the main awesome to alter your daughter's instructor. She is an educator who, even however teaches the youngest age, needs to uphold a undeniable volume of professionalism. That stupid pastime she is enjoying is severe college BS and she or he merely needs to examine to advance up. moving alongside, have a communication with the crucial. the instructor could be contemporary at this chat or no longer, this is as much as you. greater helpful in case you have the assembly with the instructor contemporary. talk what you dislike relating to the scientific care you, your daughter and whoever else is being concern to and what the three of you're able to do to maintain calm waters. i'm somewhat asserting that in case you sense you need to substitute your daughters instructor, then accomplish that. take under consideration this is no longer approximately you or the instructor, yet rather the baby. this is her first experience interior the educational device. do no longer enable or no longer this is one which will turn her off from teachers all jointly. i wish i ought to be of a few help.

I would make a list and write things down which you like and which you are good at. Then put plus or minus next to each one after you ask questions on it and the one that has the most plus next to it wins. Put all your strenghts on that list. If it is Spanish put it there too. I hope it helps.

teach eather from 1st grade to 4th grade because it isn't challenging in any subjects and if you have a weakness in a subject it wont really matter because their so young you wont have to put as much time in it as lets say high-school.
