Two cylinders are mathematically similar. The smaller cylinder has a height of 20cm, and the larger has a height of 30cm. I worked out that since the larger cylinder has a diameter of 12cm, then the smaller cylinder must have a diameter of 8cm. However, if it takes 5ml of paint to cover the small cylinder, how much paint would be needed to cover the large one? Also, both cylinders are made of the same material. The smaller one weighs 120g. How much does the larger one weigh?

I have a 3.65 GPA, top 20% of my class, I have taken 2 out of the 3 A.P. classes that my high school offers and have gotten A's in both. I'm in post secondary so I'm going to college as well as high school. I balance school and a job. I only have 2 extracurriculars because my school doesn't offer much except sports. I got a 24 ACT score. Miami is my dream school. Do you think I have any chance of getting in?

Hey,
Can anyone add to this list? It's for my persuasive task writing thing. Here are the reasons I've come up with, if anyone could add to this, then that would be great :]

- School bags can be heavy, therefore having to carry them 6 hours a day could lead to back pain in later life, and could affect the development and natural 'S' shape of the spine. Could also affect posture
- Place for children to store all their books, therefore reducing the number of children who forget their books. Useful for GCSE / As pupils as alot of work can be covered in the period of one lesson.
- Could reduce inequality between pupils, i.e. some pupils have fashionable bags, whereas others have the bigger, 'uglier' ones. Also 'fashionable' bags could pose health risks as they tend to have smaller straps (e.g. those nike sport bags) compared to the bigger strapped bags.

Right now, I can't seem to think of anymore =/. Any contributions would be of great help, thank you =]

I am a single mom with an associates degree. Is sacrificing for two more years and getting my BA or BS really worth it? I really love anthropology and religious studies and know that if I got a Masters or higher then I could combine all my loves and interests into one field. The downside is that I am 32 and my son is 3. The only reason I got my associates was because of my son. I love learning but don't know if the sacrifice is really worth it.

So...I'm writing a story and I need a BIT of help. First off, I need a good name for a Chemistry professor. He's rather mono-tone and isn't really exciting or really strict.

Secondly, I need a cool name for a piece of technology. This piece of technology exists in the future and is used during classes. One of it's many uses is to automatically send an assignment to the students when they walk into the classroom and automatically send it to the teacher when it's due. Any ideas?

I am looking for a quote from a journalist, (whose name, I regret, escapes me). The quote goes something like this:

"It is a shame that the people who know best how to run the country are all driving taxis ans working on building sites."

The trouble is that I need the exact quote, and I can't find any reference to it through my normal internet searches. I suppose it would help if I knew the name of the guy who said it! Can anyone help me track it down?

thanks,
