I want to take the semester off and work and get scholarships. But will regular scholarships sent to the school pay it off? It will be about 13 grand. I won't go into it, but i thought i was set for the year and ended up not getting the money because of a sudden incident and decided to go anyway. I'm not crying over this I'll get through it, but will this work?

I am a freshman and am taking all the honors classes in my school (english, math, and global studies). So far i have As in all of them but it has only been one quarter. I am just really concerned for my extracurriculars. I have joined clubs like speech and debate, CSF, NHS, and deca(although i am not sure if i am gonna stick with deca......should I?) In addition i have been doing an indian classical dance for 8 years now and will coninue to do it until senior year (although it is not competition or anything....so will that effect the "look goodnesss" of it?) I am not a real sporty person but all my friends are in varsity and JV and are taking all honors classes so i do not know what i should do so that i can stand out as well. I was thinking to doing JV tennis sophmore year....but am not sure if i will make it. I am working on my gold award for girl scouts and my goal is to get 500 hours of community service. What else should i do to increase my chances?????

I'm truly stuck between 3 things... I just don't know what I want to do!! And it seems like everybody else knows exactly where they're headed, and what they want with their life.
I either want to major in English Teacher Education, Social Studies Teacher Education or Music Teacher Education... but asking me to choose between those is like asking me whether I'd rather be deaf or blind... I could never choose! anybody have any advice.. Pros/Cons of each?

I'm a sophomore Liberal Studies Major. My freshmen year I messed up, I got three C's and the rest were As and Bs.
I can either take a full load for the rest of my time in college and graduate a semester early, or I can take a full load, make up those three GE classes and graduate c.um laude (maybe magna c.um laude).
What's the better option?

I have a Bio professor who loves to complicate the difficult criteria of mammalian physiology by making exams which you always have to select the most incorrect answer out of 5 choices. Some problems have partially incorrect statements but since it is MOST incorrect, you have to guess the answer basically. The average on the last exam was 9/20 and nobody out of our 300+ student class achieved a 100. The professor also loves to pick C and D answers to force the student to read a lot of the answers to determine which one is wrong. (I have a new method of starting from the middle of the question C, then go on to D, B etc to save time but it still is annoying when you get 4 Ds followed by 3Cs and no A answers the whole exam because you think you did it wrong. In addition to this he loves to use complex words of english to complicate matters for non-native students, this isnt a problem for me but I still will complain. To top things off he said that <20% might still be passing, lying to us.

She is ten and very intelligent. She is great with generalized subjects like comprehension and history but the detailed things like carrying numbers and spelling boggle her!

Any suggestions or exercises we can do?

They want me to visit. I go to college in the city and live on-campus and I have my parents and married sister in far suburbs. I have used to visit them every 2- 3 weeks on weekends but its little bit hassle, because once I step out to train station in suburbs there is no way to get home without calling my sister or father to drive me. They are sometimes busy and I have to adjust to their schedule. Besides last time when I visited them during family weekend, I did not feel too much comfortable, mainly because my mother use to attack me for errors. For ex, when I walked out church few minutes before end of mass. And when she calls me she always asks me only abt material things, nothing like have I made new friends, do I have fun. And she points that I chose wrong major, despite the fact that I like it and doing good at it, though I would do better if I had better courses in high school. Last time when I went, I hope to get relaxed, get some rest, but actually I got more stressed.

Well, the same I'll say for me, (yours truly) - but after I re-boot this temperamental, near diabolical machine which I believe"computes" more than it is required to do!
I think it has been vudu'ed!
By that old malignant witch doctor Julio, in Guanabacoa, Cuba, when he put a spell on me, at my tender age of three!
Believe me . . oh well, that's too long a story! See youse all!!!

That's what it is like around here. The public school system has such a lack of teachers they are hiring anyone who has a college degree no matter what they went to school for. My new boyfriend got a job teaching in middle school and he has a degree but it's in Construction management and he's teaching English and history classes which has nothing to do with teaching at all! Is it really hard to get teachers who went to school for that? Even now, the schools in the district he teaches in still needs a lot of teachers. I was going to go to school for teaching but now it's too late I'm 30 years old and if I go now I'll be too old to start a career. But is there a reason no one wants to teach anymore?
