Recently I was just trolling the web when I came across an article about a senior in high school with a 3.8 GPA and 18 hours of college credit in Physics, Math, and Chemistry who got rejected from MIT for "Not Having Enough Activities." Apparently because the student did not participate in sports, band, or any school clubs he was not MIT Material. His excuse was that he worked those four years in high school because he needed income.

Do you think the lack of afterschool activities organized by the school is a reason to reject students from College? Myself I think its a rather shoddy reasion: as if band is so nessecary to organize your life in college! Its not as if Niels Bohr, Henry David Thoreau, or John Locke needed to play football to be intelligent enough to make some of the most important contributions to human knowledge ever.

Imagine what would the world be like if Steve Wozniak brought the Apple 1 out and consumers said "but did you play chess in your spare time?"

Is my understanding correct about private tuition lenders: From what they claim, a student can pay back the loan after graduation; even while taking out two or three loans over the period of 3-4 years in order to fully cover all expenses.

Or must the student take only one loan to cover the 3-4 years and pay back that loan only... after graduation?

I am currently doing my UCAS application for a Social Work degree. I am finding it really hard to sell myself on the personal statement.
I can mention i have relevant experience and i am currently waiting for news on voluntary applications for work in the areas that interest me. I am also a student rep which will look good, but i am finding it really hard not to make myself sound boring and unacademic.
It just will not flow properly. Can anyone help me with this please?

writing something for a creative writing assignment in school and I need for one of my characters to ask another character for something. It has to be something pretty big, no just "hey can i borrow your shirt?". Was told that the situation in which the person is asking the favour is either life or death, therefore it needs to be a pretty big favour. Any ideas??? Because I am struggling!!!

Ok well I have to take this test to get into the elementary education program to become a teacher. The test cost me $130.00 to take and is on three subjects: math, english, and writing. I was unaware of how big of a deal this test is and I just transfered from a community college so most of the class I have left to take I must be in the education program & I want to get it over sooner then later. I was unaware you have to reschedule 3 days in advance so I tried to reschedule or cancel it today and they told if I couldn't. Now I am stuck taking this computerized test on Saturday morning. If I fail I have to pay the $130.00 again to retake it and can't take it till next month. I am trying not to stress about it and my mom said take it and if you don't pass that is ok I don't mind paying for you to take it again next time.
I work all day tomorrow till about 6 and from then on I can study and I have the rest of the night off as of now.
