If a vehicle is moving toward you at v miles per hour and blowing its horn at a frequency of f, then you hear a horn as if it were blowing at a frequency of h. This can be defined by the equation: , where s is the speed of sound, approximately 760 miles per hour.

1. Simplify the complex fraction in the formula.

2. Suppose a truck’s horn blows at 370 cycles per second and is moving toward you at 65 miles per hour. Find the frequency of the horn as you hear it.

I see it so much at the beginning of sentences, it seems to be used in place of "Well". As in "Well.. I'm going." or "Well.. I'm not sure".

here's the quote:
“You’ll never learn anything of value from those bearded idiots… Piss on the beards of all those self-righteous monkeys… They do nothing but thumb their prayer beads and recite a book written in a tongue they don’t understand… Now, no matter what the mullah teaches, there is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft.” – Baba, page 17

Currently, I am an English major aspiring to a doctoral degree attending at Cerritos college. I have had some of the best instructors, taken the classes that have demanded the most of me, and was always considered "smart". My fall semester started about two weeks ago. As much as I enjoy the lectures and experience from these classes, I can't seem to buckle down and do the assigned work. Is there something missing? What could it be that is not allowing me to do well this semester? Why is it that I cannot get down to work? Any input is appriciated-teacher, professor, or instructors preferred.

I am confused as I live in Scotland but when I leave school I want to go to an English University. However, to get in I would need AAB at A-level, but since I can't do them because I don't live in England I need AAB at advanced higher in the same subjects. I feel that this is unfair as advanced highers are far harder than A levels and they have to be completed over 1 year. When I asked about highers I was told that even if I got 5 As it would not be enough, but I always thought that 5 As at higher was equivalent to 3 As at A-level, since although they are not as hard, you have to do more and complete them over 1 year instead of 2.

I had a problem with my tuition last year. I was going to Loyola University in Chicago but because it was so expensive, even with Financial Aid, I had to get out. I switched to Truman College and last Saturday I registered late. They told me I had to pay today or I would get dropped. It wasn't like that in Loyola, I had all semester to pay. Now I have to pay the first day of school. My parents are going through financial difficulties and I couldn't possibly ask them to lend me the money since they don't have it. My financial aid hasn't come thru. I barely changed it last saturday and they told me that it hasn't been processed even though the customer service of FAFSA told me it would be processed by today! I have no clue what to do and I don't want to miss school! Please help me!
