Please help this foreign English speaker. I am confused - any english teachers here? Please give me some sentence examples to demonstrate when to use 'I' with has have, hadn't, haven't etc. I am having problem with my tenses. For example, lets say I was asked the question, "Where did you place the pens?" Would I answer, " I placed the pens on the table" or "I have placed the pens on the table"??? Can you please recommend a website to teach use of has, haven't etc. when I am the speaker? Please recommend a site to teach the tenses etc. Many thanks.

Does anybody think that missing 8 days in 2 years of college is bad?

If someone presents an incoherent, flawed argument which I disagree with but don't have the patience to argue against and I want to mock their stupidy by simply writing "not nesecelery..." - how do I show that I have intentionally mis-spelled "necessarily" and not make people think that i'm the idiot?

As far as I know, [sic] is used during quotation to show the reader that the author is aware of the spelling mistake and is either respectfully conveying an unusual or archaic spelling or just poking fun at the quotee.

In my example though, I am not quoting anybody and I am not trying to mock myself, I just want to say "I know I've spelled this wrong..."

So is "Not nesecelery [sic]" an acceptable sentance?

Ok, I have this speech for communication class in which I have to introduce another classmate. After getting a little info on my partner I saw that she was really interested with little kids like her major was early childhood education, she worked at a day care, and so on and so forth. For my speech we have to utilize a theme in which we can talk about the person, to make it a little interesting. So basically I wanted to figure out how to talk about her in a way where a theme of children could play in or something on that line. Please Help!! Thanks =]

Besides getting and a.a. degree in a technical field is it really worth it to get it in anything? Couldn't you just go to a four year institution and take the time to get a B.A.? Or even take the classes at a community college and transfer them w/o getting the A.A.?

I grew up in an area without junior colleges and the like and knew hardly anyone with an A.A. degree so I never saw the point in getting one.

My in-laws are immigrants and think the A.A. actually means something great. I have no way to explain to them they are mistaken. I went straight for a four year degree and they don't understand how I didn't get an A.A. first. I saw absolutely no need. Am I alone in this thinking?

Also, what are the prospects for a cousin-in-law getting a good job with an A.A. in broadcasting? Is that considered a technical field?

Thanks in advance.

Arabic is my native language, Although I'm in love with English. The problem is with vowels, it seems that almost every word has its own way of pronunciation although they have the same vowels.

For an example:-

-Lord and Word.
-Synthesis and Thesis.
-Record and Report.

Isn't there any standard that can help me?
