Music, or songs has been part of almost every culture for thousands of years. Even in the Bible we read of songs that tell of special events in history. It could be a song celebrating a victory in battle or time of tragedy, - or other things which have affected the lives of people.
In modern times, we still have message songs. It could be a country & western song telling of a lost love, or an expression of a joyous love relationship. We have humorous songs at times, and we all need to laugh occausionally.
It is said that music seuthes the savage beast. Some music is relaxing, and some is exciting. We are affected in many ways as we hear these songs. Sometimes a song makes us want to dance, and other times it causes us to remember a past emotion. Even the hardest hearted person is sometimes affected by a particular song now and then. Those who are more sensitive are affected by most songs. I believe it is natural to want to sing or make music, and even a small child will make up a song even if they have not been exposed to music.
I can not image a world without music, but it would be a sad invironment if suddenly all music went silent.

I've been part of the high school band playing saxophone for 7+ years, along with our small town bands where I play bass guitar.

Music is a big part of everybody's life, whether they know it or not.
