I went to sign my daughter up for pre k at the public school here in Maryland and found out today that she wont be accepted due to the fact that they only take low income for the state funding. There isnt a daycare that gives her the schooling that would be necessary because most of them are just babysitters, not real teachers. Why is there nothing for the working parents??? I work my a** off and pay taxes, for what!! I want my children to have an education, the lower incomes just want somewhere to take there kid. Now Im not trying to be rude or judgemental but for the most part that is what is going on... ITS NOT FAIR!!!

Hey, guys! I'm in the 8th grade right now, and I'm having a hard time deciding which school I want to go to. (I live in Michigan, I don't know if that's important or not, but whatever.) The schools are Novi High and Northville High. I want to go to a school where I know several people. At Northville, my cousins go there, but they are a year older than me. Or something like that. There is a girl that's going to Novi, that I know, but I don't really like her. She's a girl who goes to my school right now. My mom wants me to go to Novi, because she said that the bus could pick me up. I live in Novi, but the Northville bus comes by my house every day. My cousin who goes there told me that. My mom said that I could probably go to either one, and that my brother could drop me off at Northville, because he can drive. But he's three years older than me, and when I'm in the 10th grade, he'll be going to college (sp?) and he might not be able to take me. So where do you guys think I should go?

Jihad literally means to "struggle", notably to "struggle in the way of God" or "to struggle to improve one's self and/or society.

Osama says Holy War, definitions say struggle.

Holy War = struggle?

Muslims, does it say in the Koran to kill people who don't believe the same way you do? Does struggle mean war? I really need to know.

I can remember when I was still in high school, my counselors, teachers and parents all telling me going to college would pretty much secure my future. When did that change? Nowadays, grads are always talking about how hard it is to find a job. It just doesn't seem fair or right to me that having a college education isn't good enough anymore. I've heard more people talk about being overlooked or rejected due to lack of experience than I care to know. It almost discourages me from continuing my education. Also, It seems to me systematically more and more hoops are being placed out there for people to jump through, and I for one am not interested. First the message was go to college get an education. Then it was don't waste your time with an associate's degree, get your bachelor's at least. Now it seems companies won't take you serious if you don't at least have a bachelor's degree and/or an extensive amount of experience. How is that right? Now I need to train myself on my own dime too?

My neighbors have decided to homeschool their son. I am not opposed to homechooling. He is in high school. However, there are a couple of factors to be taken into consideration. 1) He would have to go to alternative school when classes began for getting in trouble last year. 2) His mother works during the day and is not really the sharpest tool in the shed. Aren't there any guidelines to keep parents from abusing the system just so they wont have to deal with their child's bad behavior at school? And shouldnt the parent have some form of qualifications before being allowed to homeschool? I really doubt this child is going to benefit at all from this and could possibly be hindered by it.

I know that there are hundreds colleges and universities which have not obtained accreditation from CHEA in the U.S. I learn that applying for the accreditation is absolutely optional for institutes that have a legal approval from the government of the state. My questions are here regarding this. I ask the questions because I am Korean who is not familliar with that.

1. Are the degrees from unaccredited colleges never credential although the degrees were awarded from legally approved colleges?

2. Are there any discriminations for unaccredited college degree holders to apply for a job especially to the body of governmental or public offices in the U.S?

Thank you.
