that a nice social life is very important for academic success?

I think that having a great social life in college is key for getting good grades because it is MUCH easier to do well when you enjoy your life so I think going out and having fun is AS important as studying. Do you guys agree?

I'm interested in studying in both of these fields. I know that the Ivy League schools are all-around excellent places to study, but I was wondering if anyone knows of specialized schools, or any high-caliber schools with exceptional linguistics programs.

I love research especially in the areas of Dyslexia and Autism.

I can read fine and have my own method of reading, but do you think it's possible.I have been to uni before and found it impossible to structure and do things academically, write essays- I did'nt know I was dyslexic at the time though.

Anyone who responds with something like "these are the best years of your life," "just push through it," "it'll all be worth it!," etc. is either so old as to be senile, the kind of ape who does well in HS, or both. Don't give me that ********.

Simon's Rock, a college with a freshman class composed of sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds, accepted me, but the $50,000 a year tuition is impossible for me to pay. I seek to write novels for a living and have received about a dozen personal responses from literary agents; two agents are currently looking at a partial manuscript. I know I am more intelligent than most people at my high school, and if I have to sit through one more painfully shallow literary analysis, be herded through one more day of bell-after-Pavlovian-bell, be around the mental incompetents who compose this shithole, I will scream.

What can I do? Homeschooling is not an option, thanks to close-minded mother. I don't want to come back after the end of this school year.

I used to attend engineering school, and will be returning part time this coming school year. However, I am not sure I will finish because of the senior design course. In that course, they push EACH and EVERY person there and interfere unduly in people's lives in order to make everyone into overacheivers. I was rejected from the engineering honor society for not being part of the "in crowd" and for having a life outside of the engineering college. I feel that they are going too far to increase their ranking and make themselves look good. It also seems like they are only trying to get more funding because of severe budget reductions, and are using students to achieve that goal. They constantly say "teamwork, teamwork, teamwork" in the first part of their brochure and the majority of the second part only cites internship/co-op statistics. The right hand side features more of the same from one of the overachievers. How can I get more comfortable with this so I can graduate?

I had no ambition in high school. I hated it and I was depressed. College is a lot better for me. But I'm not fully applying myself, I'm just average. If I step it up in college can I still make it as a nurse? And do high school grades affect my future?

"It's a good thing the better of us try and fail rather than try at all."

If you guess right then you get the points! Got to be the first one to find it though. And there is no typo in the phrase, I mean it that way.
