Im in high school and I have a D in one class my teacher is always losing my homework. Ive made copies of assignments, kept a log and even talked to the school board but nothing is helping. What should i do to raise up my grade?

i have also tried talking to her, extra credit and telling the principal the teacher is stubborn and the principal is lazy.

As a teacher, I have had students tell me that I lost their work, I usually try to work with the student if they can prove they turned it in. A lot of time though, when it gets down to it, I find the student to be at fault. Either they turned it in, but didn't put their name on their papers, they find them in their lockers or notebooks, or they just didn't do it. However, if everything is legitimate, and you are really telling the whole truth, then try talking to your teacher. See if s/he will do something to help you out. It seems that is the only thing that you did not say you did.

Geeze! As a teacher myself, if I lost a student's homework over and over, I'd give him a grade up just to make up for it. I don't know what else you could do. You're already making copies of your assignments, keeping a log, and you've talked to the school board! The only other thing I can suggest is go to the local media and see if someone there would do a story on it. If they can find others in the same spot as you are in, maybe they'd be interested in it.

Have a parent or trusted adult intervene on your behalf. Call a meeting with the teacher and the principal. Then go to the school board with the matter, asking for a push to get it resolved. Make sure you have all of your documentation with you. As for the D, is it what you really earned? Or is it a result of all of the lost papers? You will have to work very hard this late in the year to win this battle.

Back in the mid-eighties when my brother was in 7th grade, he had a math teacher who was hateful to him and who continually "lost" his test papers and homework. My mother had a meeting with her and it never happened again.

By the way, my brother was highly gifted and some teachers gave him a hard time because he was outspoken and inquisitive. We believe to this day that the "hateful" math teacher was trying to punish him because she was intimidated by his intelligence.

Maybe you can get transferred to a different teacher, or a different class.
