Education & Reference - 5 May 2007

I'm paying loans for the Sallie Mae loans for my kids college educations. I'm paying ~$7500.00 in interest this year but I believe only $2500.00 is deductible when I itemize--is that true? Would I be better off getting a 2nd mortage to tie the interest to my house which would make all interest deductible?

My dad graduated with a masters from the university of arizona in engineering. We are a pretty wealthy family, and during the past 10 years or so, he has been studying law on the side. He wants to go into law now, so is there anyway for him to get in Law school or something? What is the procedure? He's a pretty smart person, definitely talented.


Also, I just found out it costs like $75 to apply to a college in the US. I always had the thought that you could apply for free. I guess not. I want to go in the medical field, so I guess I'm looking for schools with a good biology/ pre-med major? What are some good schools in America with those fields?

I'm still a freshman in high school. I had all honors 4.0 first semester, so far 4.0 for the 2nd. I'm in track and field and cross country, I volunteer regularly at a nearby health foundation. Ok, at the moment I'm working on an essay for my eighth grade English class. We've just complete reading the screenplay "The Diaries of Anne Frank," and must now write an essay on it.

The promt goes as follows,

"John Dickinson once said 'We cannot be happy without being free.' Convince me to agree or disagree with this quote by using examples from the story."

So far I have my introduction paragraph completed and I need help revising/editing it. I also have a small case of writers block...uuhhggg....and need a few ideas for supporting ideas.

I'm running out of space so I'll include my first paragraph in a second. Any comments on it help, be gramatical or anything else.

-manners
-how to treat members of the opposite sex
-how to dress (not like taking away trends but basics, like what is appropriate for a job interview etc)
-how to wear make-up (again, not excessive, but show how too much make-up could look cheap)
-Some basic etiquette things like thank-you cards and stuff

This is homework on fractional equations and extraneous solutions. I need the solution AND the domain. The slashes mean that it is a fraction so in 1/x one is the numerator and x is the denominator.
