Me too. I just don't get it, but you know, maybe it isn't all about your grades, maybe it is your personality, do you talk in class? do you pass notes? If I were you I would check to make sure you are not doing any mistakes like these.

I hate to say this, but perhaps your teacher hates you because you are a straight A student. My daughter recently had some trouble with a teacher simply because she is so smart that she is getting all her work done much sooner than her peers. This teacher has been picking her out for discipline even though she is doing nothing different than the other students. Over the past couple weeks it got worse and worse until the point of this male teacher standing over my daughter shouting in her face out in the hall for simply standing up at her desk. I had to go talk to the guidance counsellor and principal about this on her behalf. They seemed to agree with me that the teacher was out of line. Anyway, I am trying to say that you may be getting older, but you are not, yet, an adult. You still need adult intervention sometimes. Please tell your parents and let them help you out. And if, for some reason, your parents won't back you, you can always go talk to the principal yourself. Just recruit a trusted adult or friend to go with you. And go in with some points written down that you want to discuss. Try to state things in a non-accusing tone. Say that you would like to work things out with this teacher by talking together in front of the principal or school counsellor. But be willing to at least consider making some changes yourself as you talk about the problems. Both you and the teacher must give a little!
Finally, remember that it is your teacher's job to "get on your case" a bit if you are screwing up. But it is not your teacher's job to demean you in front of the other students. Ask yourself which one your teacher is actually doing.

Are you saying you have an "average" teacher? Ba-DUM-ching! Har har. I know I'm a dork.

So, sometimes people just don't get along. Teachers are not immune from this. Any clue why she gets on your case? Lack of enthusiasm during class? Kissing up--some don't like that? Asking questions they don't know the answer to or plain old correcting them when they're wrong? --Oh man, some hate that. Could be anything.

Just try not to stress about it. The class won't last forever. Take it as a life lesson--You just can't please everyone. Unless she starts treating you unfairly grade-wise or anything, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Your teacher may be "pushing you" to do your best. She knows you're smart and doesn't want to see you slack off.

And, it's Straight-A student. (She would get on your case for spelling poorly, too!)

Hang in there. June is coming and so is the end of the school year. Your teacher is probably worn out and is ready for the break, too.

Some teachers are like that because they are pushing you to succeed. Just deal with it as best as you can. And know that it won't last forever. You will graduate and move to another level or graduate. Some of the hardest teachers end up being the most remembered.

I had the same problem, one of those young but mean professors that thought he was better than his students.
Just be patient, that last thing you want to do is jeopardize your grade. If you feel like shes singling you out and the problem is consistent, than go see a dean or principle about it, .... yeah were students but that doesent mean that teachers have a right to step on us. good luck, I know how it can feel
