This is homework on fractional equations and extraneous solutions. I need the solution AND the domain. The slashes mean that it is a fraction so in 1/x one is the numerator and x is the denominator.

#(1) X-2/X - 7/3X = 3/4X

#(2) 1/7 + 1/x = 1/5

THANK YOU. please be detailed and explain.

(x-2)/x - 7/3x = 3/4x
Multiply each term by 12x (x * 3 * 4) which is lowest common demoninator
6(x-2) - 7*4 = 3*3
6x -12 - 28 = 9
6x = 49
x = 49/6 = 8 1/6

1/7 + 1/x = 1/5
Multiply each term by 35x (x * 5 * 7)
35x/7 + 35x/x = 35x/5
5x + 35 = 7x
35 = 2x
17 1/2 = x
