This algebraic systems of equations word problem has got me stuck because it includes a ratio in the problem. The book doesn't teach ratios for another 3 chapters! Please illustrate what I must do in order to solve this System of equations word problem.


A plant food is to be made from three chemicals. The mix must include 60% of the first and second chemicals. The second and third chemicals must be in a ratio of 4 to 3 by weight. How much of each chemical is needed to make 750 kg of the plant food?

I have been attending community colleges for about 4 years ever since I dropped out of a university because of low grades, and since then have continued the pattern of dropping/failing classes. Overall I have most of my general education complete, but since I have failed/dropped out of so many classes I have an extremely low G.P.A.(below 2.0) and therefore am not able to transfer back to a 4 year state university. I'm really sick of community colleges and need to get myslef in some sort of university, but am not sure what to do with such a low GPA. I thought about reapplying to a private institution all over again with just my high school grades and starting fresh, but I will have to retake a lot of classes that i have already passed. Is there any way I can transfer to a university without staying at community college??

I wanted to go to an ivy league, but I feel like I've lost all hope in that aspect. But anyways, I'm a freshman, and my grades are as follows:
10H English - B+
10H Global History - A+
9H Biology - B or B+
10R Math - A
French 10H - A
Orchestra - A
I also do fencing, which I plan on continuing through high school. I'm in a local volunteer club, French club, and an environment club. Next year I plan on volunteering abroad. My grades are rather inconsistent, and I don't know how to change that. I used to be one of the top students in my class, but everything's just been going downhill. My brother goes to Princeton, and everyone has high expectations for me. I also had high expectations for myself. But I don't know... am I on the right track, what do I do to change, etc?

How do you cite The Odyssey?..I have a translated copy and I was wondering if I'd cite it as "a book" or a "religious book"..Does anyone know the layout or the type of citation I would have to do for this source?..I'm really confused.

It is apparantly a film and I'm guessing it could be quite old. There must be someone who knows. It's important I find out... for a silly reason maybe but I need it!!
