I make puzzle books; is there a type of puzzle that would make for a good schoolbook for the home schooling market? These could be math (like kakuro), logic (like sudoku) or word (like crosswords or crostics or word searches), or some combo, aimed at specific levels of difficulty.

My children are young yet and will go to public school, but I'm wondering what I can do to help them develop, on the side and on vacations, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. What sorts of games and activities encourage this?

I have a speech to give regarding the history of autism in public schools. I have found a lot of information about disabilities in general (IDEA of 1997, ect) but I really need autism-specific information. I'm looking for documented cases of the first school districts to allow autistic students, the students' names if available. If anyone can refer me to a website or a book, I'd appreciate it so much!
