His name was most likely Grog or Mog or something similar.
The practice of humans keeping mementos of where they have been seems to stretch back as far as mankind does.
Neanderthals that walked the Earth some 60,000 years ago had a habit of making jewelry out of bone, antler, and shells complete with "drilled" holes to mount string. Stands to reason that they collected these things on their travels and
no doubt served as reminders of their trips.
I don't think there were souvenir stands back then...But who's to say....
