The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. In the Philadelphia region (Bucks, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery Counties) starting salaries are in the 40K range for a BA/BS with no prior experience. The market is EXTREMELY competitive to teach there. Good Luck!

Public school districts start out Step I BA level between 42,000 - 45,000 depending on the district and their contracts. Private schools tend to pay much less.

when I began teaching near pittsburgh five years ago, I started at 30,000...but I know it has increased since then.
