i live in the city of waukesha, wisconsin. for years this city has been facing many budget cuts to its cities survices, such as bus system, park rec., county fair. the worst of the budget cuts go to our public schools.

next year all schools with have no librarians and many teachers and staff will lose their jobs.

the following school year might elemenate all extracurricular activites such as; football team, basketball, prom, yearbook, band, field trips, cheerleading, etc. you name it, everything (100 + many more). all because there's no money in the budget to pay for these things.

i ask you, what kind of education, and example does this seen to future kids who go to school here?

My son started full time in Spain (not compulsory) at the age of three. By the age of six I can´t but wonder the differences between his education and that of his "peers" in Spain. It also enables parents to find a full time job. What is going on in this country with children´s education. Is this just a matter of money?

I would like to say the following in a way that is grammatically correct: "You, who I think is terrible, are still nice."

While I suspect I could get around it with a rewrite like "You, whom I find to be terrible, are still nice," or just "You, whom I find terrible, are still nice," the questions posed by the original form still interest me.

Also, in general, how are those verbs in comma-separated modifiers conjugated when they're referring to "you"? Which is correct, if either:
* "You, who excel at spelling, are also a good dancer."
* "You, who excels at spelling, are also a good dancer."

Why does this feel so awkward?!

For example, you would look for "small domestic carnivore" and the dictionary would give you "cat," or "game played with two rackets and a net" and the dictionary would give you "tennis." (it's sort of an opposite dictionary...?)

I have recently applied to graduate school for Architecture and out of the 5 schools i applied to 2 have already said NO. I am worried and starting to second guess myself.
I graduated with a 3.54 GPA in Art HIstory and I thought i had a good portfolio and very good recommendation letters.
However my GRE scores were not very good.
I can barely take this long wait anymore.......
Any words of wisdom would be appreciatted.
and how heavily are the GRE's weighted if my GPA was pretty good?

In the dim past, even before the Ch'in and the Han dynasties, there lived a cave cheif of southern China by the name of Wu. As was the custom in those days, Cheif Wu had taken 2 wives. Each wife in her turn had presented Wu with a baby daughter. But one of the wives sickened and died, and not too many days after that Cheif Wu took to his bed and died too. Yeh-Shen, the little orphan, grew to girlhood in her step-mothers home.
