More important for what purpose?

This is kind of like asking if it is better to go to Harvard or MIT. Well -- if you are majoring in English, then Harvard, if you are majoring in Math, then both are great, if you are majoring in Electrical Engineering, then MIT is best.

An MBA from a top school will allow you to go into many fields -- including some fields in finance. Getting the CFA designation will allow you to work in certain fields of finance.

There is a lot of overlap between an MBA in Finance and what you need to learn for the CFA. There is very little overlap if your MBA concentration is in marketing, operations research or general management.

i would say getting an MBA because that is a degree. CFA is just an accreditation. if you do an MBA, some of the info you learn will be relevant to CFA as well, so you can always write CFA whilst you are doing your degree or afterwards.

An International CFA could fetch u a similar type of job what probably a Top B-School could. Do whatever u think u can. If u have a combination of both, u will be at the top of the world.
