i have been out of college for 3 years now and i would like to go back and finish my degree. i work full time now so i know that my classes with clash with my work schedule. believe it or not i only have 6 credits left to go to obtain my ba in psychology. i could take weekend college and have psy as minor but then i would have to change my major, im thinking to community leadership and development but i dont want to lose my credits. i submitted a re-admitt form and i am awaiting information from the advising office. has anyone done anything like this before? i feel kinda bad for only having to finish 6 credits but i had some troubled things happen so i took a leave of absence now i want to go back.

Six credits is so close!

...but it really depends on what you want the degree for. Think about your personal goals for a minute - not your career aspirations; a career is simply a means to achieve a goal - do you want to spend time with people, help people, travel, be financially secure, own your own business, spend time on your own, write...

Think about the goals, then decide which degree would help you achieve them. If a career in community leadership and development will get you to your ultimate destination, then don't think about how close you were to finishing, but how close you were to making a career mistake. If your goals are better served by a degree in Psychology, then, by all means, budget time for those six weekly hours and go finish it up!

Keep in mind too that, when considering a career, you should "Do what you love and love what you do."

Either way, it's good you are examining and evaluating your life - that will make for a long and happy future!

I haven't done this before myself, but you may want to check out night-school/evening courses. Also, there are some colleges which offer online courses as well that you can possibly take over the internet.
Good luck!
