I goofed off my first 2 years of college and my grades reflect it but I finally know what I want to do with my life and I want to get serious with my studies. I'm afraid with my academic history I won't be able to pursue my career of choice. Is there any way to start over with a clean slate academically?

A college lists these 6 academic and nonacademic factors in their admission decisions:Academic, Secondary school record, Class rank, Recommendation(s), Standardized test scores and Essay.

I guess academic factor they mean GPA, class rank also has to do with GPA, standardized scores are SAT etc. What do they look at on your secondary school record?

Okay, my problem is...I have looked at every different major that I possibly can and I DONT LIKE ANY OF THEM! Right now, I am a Criminal Justice major at a community college (future transfer student) but I cant stay in that field and get a job because of some legal trouble I ran into...I was never really interested in that anyway. I feel like I am or going to have to just pick a major out of a hat and go with it. I dont like Math, I only like US History, English is okay to an extent, and Science, well its cool until you get to the math part. I know I am being way too picky but if I just pick something, I am going to set myself up for failure because if my heart isnt in it, I wont do good. So what do I do? I have to transfer to a four year college in August with something and I have nothing. My counselors dont know what to do with me and I dont either... Somebody Help Please! THIS MIGHT BE MY LAST HOPE!

I'm 16 and interested in becoming a criminal defense attorney. Because I have panic/anxiety disorder, I can't go to regular school, but I'm smarter than your average teen :) Where can I start learning about law independently to figure out if this is what I want to do for sure.

My mother makes too much (70K+/yr gross income) for me to be able to get state grants (Washington State), and I am curious if I were to break free of being a dependent student that it would help me out by decreasing my "household" income. I figure that I could get married to a girl in the same situation and perhaps make things easier on myself. I have been living in my own apartment for two and a half years, so I would say that I have my own established residency, but I am truly clueless. Having good grades and being self-sustaining through work and loans make it feel like I should be receiving some kind of assistance. I work way to hard I believe to not be getting some support. Alternatively, if there is advice for people trying to make their way through school, while making excellent grades at a private college that doesn’t offer scholarships, then that would be appreciated too! Thank you!
