hmm... good question... I think it can be seen different ways
1) it could refer to making a well thought out and concise explanation to get your point across rather just blathering on
or perhaps it means
2) intellectual pursuits are useless and artifice is regarded above them (ahem... Paris Hilton leaps to mind)
