My youngest son has problems with reading comprehension. He is in the eighth grade and has to pass the final exam to progress to the ninth. He will read a video game magazine until the cover is shopworn, but can barely get through a chapter in a novel. He admits that he has a hard time with understanding what he reads on a test. I am currently printing exercises from some educational websites and he sails through them and can give me the idea of the paragraph. I am a "mature" student and trying to be a role model to him. What more can I do a parent to increase his interest and comprehension level?

My teacher was standing at the front of the class, and I walked up toward her, and she was staring at the place around my crotch and smiling at the same time. Why would she do this? I'm a girl by the way.

On my current fafsa I had two schools registered. I was attending my last semester of junior college and then I began at a university. They covered my tuition for my semester at the junior college which was like $600.00. My parental contribution on my fafsa was $6500.00. I assumed if they would cover that they would help me with my university tuition. but when I started they informed me that financial aide would cover nothing even though my tuition for one semester is close to $10,000.00. Does this seem strange to anyone else, because I am bewildered and completely losing it trying to figure out how to pay all of this money. And on top of it they told me that because i am not married i am still considered a dependent of my parents so they are only giving me 2500.00 in student loans and I have to figure out how to come up with the rest of it. I hate money!

I am writing a senior research paper at Tularosa High School in Tularosa, NM, and it is required for me to graduate. I was wondering if a musician (or someone whose career involves music) would answer these questions:

1) What is the name a description of your job?
2) What is your annual salary?
3) In what parts of the US (cities, states) is this type of job most concentrated?
4) Is your job constant, or is their a lot of free time?
5) Where did you attend college, and for how long?
6) Does your job require any lisences, or other special reqiurements?
7) What kind of benefits does your job offer?
8) Do you travel with your job?
9) What other jobs does your area of study offer?
10) Do you enjoy your job?
11) Does your personality match your job?

Please answer in as much detail as possible. Thank you so much. I live in a small town and it's hard to find people with this type of career.

LOST BROTHER
I knew that tree was my lost brother
when I heard he was cut down
at four thousand eight hundred sixty-two years;
I knew we had the same mother.
His death pained me. I made up a story.
I realized, when I saw his photograph,
he was an evergreen, a brisdecone like me,
who had lived from an early age
with a certain amount of dieback,
at impossible locations, at elevations
over ten thousand feet in extreme weather.
His company: other conifers,
the rosy finch, the rock wren, the raven and clouds,
blue and silver insects that fed mostly off each other.
Some years bighorn sheep visited in summer—
he was entertained by red bats, black-tailed jackrabbits,
homed lizards, the creatures old and young he sheltered.
Beside him in the shade, pink mountain pennyroyal—
to his south, white angelica.
I am prepared to live as long as he did
(it would please our mother),
live with clouds and those I love

The majority of people know that there was a conspiracy, but many will try to keep the truth away from you.

The following tactics are used to quiet anyone who attempts to expose any of your subversive acts about 9/11:
(when the 9/11 conspiracy is mentioned)
1. First, you ignore the charges, hoping the information will not be given widespread distribution.
2. If the information starts reaching too many people, you ridicule the information and the person giving the information. (For example: joke about being part of the conspiray, resort to name-calling.)
3. If that doesn't work, your next step is character assassination. If the author or speaker hasn't been involved in sufficient scandal, you are adept at fabricating a scandal against the person or persons.
4. If none of these are effective, you are known to resort to physical attacks.
