Oxygen wasn't even bottled by then, and I'm thinking more along the lines of "don't have great hatred or esteem for anyone"

I die hard, but I am not afraid to go.

- George Washington's last words, 1799, In Death/Last Words

However, here is another version:
The following is an excerpt out of Tobais Lear's diary. It marks the dying words of George Washington:

At about 10 o'clock, he (Washington) made several attempts to speak to me; at length he said, "I am just going. Have me decently buried, and do not let my body be put into the vault in less than three days after I am dead." I bowed assent, for I could not speak. He then looked at me again, and said, "Do you understand me?" I replied, "Yes."

Also: George Washington's last words allegedly were Tis well.

Also: George Washington's last words were, "Let me go off quietly. I cannot last long."

Not sure anyone really knows.

Washington, while willing to refer to religion in political speeches, was not himself a religious man. History records that as he lay dying from an infection, he did not make any statements of a religious nature, nor did he request clergy to be in attendance.
