My first choice is becoming an FBI agent. It's that I want the cool gun or the awesome career, I wanna help people! I'm tired of seeing the bad guy getting away or the family of four died from a bomb. I want to help those people! How long do I go to college for it? What classes do I take? What college would you suggest?

My second choice is to be a vet. I wanna take care of the dogs and cats and other living creatures, not just people. I saw two of my own dogs die. The one was poisoned by only god knows who and the other died of old age. When you see your baby get taken from you, it changes your life and you want to help those keep them close by. How long do I go to college for it? What classes do I take? What college would you suggest?

Thank you to those who answered in advance! Give me your opinion of both career choices. Tell which would benifit the people around me more. If I have any more questions I will add them as details. So, Please put this in your watchlist! Thanks! :D

After all these sort of kids that play truant are the kids that won't get any GCSE's whether they are in school or not, and lets face it if they are not in school then at least they won't be attacking a teacher and surely while they are playing truant they can be learning new skills that will benefit them later in life like washing windscreens and shoplifting.

I am transfering to FAU which is a big commuter school. I do not know anyone in that area and am worried that it will be hard to meet people, especially because I can be shy when I first meet someone. Any advice on how to meet people in a commuter school? Thanks!

This is a question for teachers who lecture at Universities, if you are around:
I had an examination and got 16 out of 20 as my final classification. I asked to see my answers as I believed I could get more than that, although it is a fine classification.
My teacher (a well known scientist in the field) gave me 0 points on an exercise that had a total of 2 because I made a simple math calculation. She said "Your exam is very very good. All the equations are correct and all the development of the problem is absolutely correct but this number here is wrong, you must have misplaced a number in your calculator..." Obviously, the final result wasn't correct, as a number, somewhere in the middle of the problem wasn't correct either, but she didn't even care that I knew how to solve it, what formulas to use and how to use them... I did put a wrong number in my calculator and BUM... 2 points were in the dump!!! Is this correct or fair?!

TEACHER SACKED IN ALL-FAIL STORM
ROB MITCHELL’S thirty 16-year-old pupils were upset when they all failed their GCSE English exam at the Newton Magna Comprehensive School.
Local Education chiefs were even more surprised, and in a shock swoop yesterday, sacked Mitchell.
Bearded, leather-jacketed Mitchell(22), a member of Heysham Young Marxist League, was last night planning an appeal at the Young Street flat which he shares with youth leader Ted Harvey(27) and art student Nike Sontag (19).
‘The pupils both enjoyed and benefited from my lessons,’ he claimed,’ this is all a dreadful misunderstanding.’
One of Mitchell’s pupils, blonde, 16 year old Cheryl Sprockett said: ‘He was great. He didn’t shout at you like some of the other teachers. His lessons were fun.’
Mitchell’s lessons were chaotic, said a parent. ‘The children did as they liked.’
Damage to classrooms at the school is extensive.

I am a 25 year old (fresh) computer engineer from Pakistan who just started as a software developer in a small but established database development company. My CGPA is very low and its full of failing grades (my transcript reads lack of consistency and hardwork) I know what is done cannot be changed but this has virtually closed all doors on me for getting admission ins a graduate school in USA.

I have a strong desire to do research and have the potential to perform much better in a research environemnt of my choice.

I basically have three options , on top of acing GRE general test.

-Get a very good GRE computer science score. (this is easier said than done)

-Involve my self into Research (some how manage to colloaborate and publish a paper with a US professor, it would be his/her problem to fit me in some how)
-Get admitted in a low quality (but accredited) MS program in my country, ace it, then apply for MS/phd

I am leaning towards research. prefereably involving opensource

i'm in 11th grade and at my school there is this teacher who doesn't even teach me but he acts really wierd with me. Hes like the strictest teacher in the school to everyone but me. Once he took a photo of me and started going on about how much he LIKED it, i mean it was just a pic of me playing with my hair. Another time i was in his room for some reason and he just came out with 'fancy a job rosa' and winked at me, then a few days later he was shouting at some kids and came up to me after and said 'i'm not mean, well i'm not mean to you because i know you like and i'm nice to you, you've seen my nice side ' and winked at me yet again. Whenever i walk past he has to have some degree of eye contact with me and whenever i talk to him he always touches me on the arm or shoulder. Its only me hes like this with, why am i been singled out like this? (sorry for posting so much i want professional opinions of other teachers)
