There's this quote that goes something like:
"Truth hurts, but silence kills."
Is this the correct wording, or a misquote? And, who said it?

O. Henry’s short story demonstrates the loyalty and steadfastness from a policeman, Jimmy Wells, to his friend, Bob, and duties. Jimmy proves his loyalty to his friendship by honoring his promise to show up at a designated place at a certain time. Patrolman Wells shows his steadfastness to his job by arresting Bob for wrongdoings, even though they had been friends from old times. People should be loyal to friends, but should also obey the law and put the law before friendships.

and to clarify, the other paragraphs are in my questions, I just posted them seperately because they wouldn't all fit in one.
Please edit the other paragraphs, too.
Thanks.

What would you put first: friendship or your duty? For Patrolman Wells, even though loyalty is a good thing, doing your job properly is more important. Something Patrolman Wells does to indicate his devotion to his work is at the beginning of the story when he strolls back and forth along his post not to show off for the few spectators, but to ensure that his job was done properly. Later, Jimmy arrests Bob and writes, “...I saw it was the face of a man wanted in Chicago” (p.228). Jimmy’s decision to arrest Bob proves that he values obedience to the law over friendship. O. Henry proves to the reader that Jimmy went through with the arrest and remained loyal to the law by stating, “‘You’ve been under arrest for ten minutes, ‘Silky’ Bob’” (p.228). The reader can easily tell that Patrolman Wells takes his duty very seriously.

I am looking to become a historian, anthropologist, or an archaeologist.

My son is in the third grade in Texas. He attends a public school. His grades are good, the last report card, they were straight B's and behavior is not a problem. However, his teacher is not listening to me. He is starting to struggle with math, I think I know what the problem is. He attended a private school last year, and already did the work last year this public school is currently working on. My son just hurries to get the work done. He tells me he is bored with repeating the same work. The teacher says my answer is a cop out. I've had a conference with the principal, she is just as bad, if not worse. What am I to do. I had to transfer from the private school because tuition became too high. How do you challenge a bored child? Grades and behavior was never a problem last year, either. This is the Carroll School District in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. If anyone has any experience with how to deal with this, let me know. I don't know what else to do.

I have an interest of going to Harvard. I want to be really successful in life, so I want to go to one of the best schools. The thing that troubles me is my grades. I have never gotten straight A's before. I've gotten very, very close, however. I have always gotten A's and B's. In the first part of the year, I had a 3.8 GPA. My grandfather went to Harvard, and he served on the admissions board, and I heard that having a family member that went to a certain college, especially Harvard, helps a person get in. He said he believes he can help me get in. I am a freshman in highschool, so I have a lot of time to change things, so what can I do to help my chances more? What are my chances?

I've noticed that my child (who is always on the honor roll) doesn't seem to care if her friends are trying hard and doing well academically. Does it matter to most middle school kids whether or not their friends are doing well in classes? Can you be popular and be failing your classes? Are good grades just for geeks? How important are your grades? How important is it if your friends are making good grades? I would love your thoughts!!
