it doesn't take a very smart person to figure out that our school system here in the states is not one of the best in the world. america is supposedly the most powerful country in the world, yet the school system does not build that strong a foundation of the future leaders of the planet's greatest country in terms of democracy and GDP or whatever else. we are all aware of how badly the manners and conducts and virtues of the newer generations are deteriorating. also, some say that the english spoken in america is many times grammatically incorrect and most are horrible when it comes to spelling. so tell me, how can we improve?

My teacher assigned me lines... again :(. Last time she gave me 750, so now according to her "rules" she gets to double it. So I got 1500. Ouch. My hand hurts so bad, its aching as I type this, and I only finished 200 lines. I got this punishment for whispering in class (and I was asking about what she was lecturing in class). Andn the line she gave me is really really long. Its "I will learn to respect the teacher while she is talking and do not talk or whisper to others in class. When I want to comment on something, I will raise my hand and ask for permission to speak. By handwriting this, I will learn to do that in the future." Now imaging writing that 1500 times and you'll see what i mean by my hand hurts. I have one more day to finish and was wondering what other people do when their hand hurts and they have to write so much. Also does anybody else get writing punishments?
