I am a kid and in sooo deep. I owe like 60 bucks to my library, and if my parents find out, I'm dead. My library has a "read off your fines" thing, but only on certain days. Are there any other ways to get fines to go away?

i tried it but i got stuck!!! heres what i did.
180-x-25
155-x equals the supplement but then you can find the actual #, making
155-x+x-25=180
155-2x-25=180
130-2x=180
-2x=50
x=-25.
If i plug the x into (x-25) and (155-x) then i get a negative # for (x-25), and you can't have negative degrees. What am i doing wrong?
Please show me what you did step by step like i did.

okay so what you do is pick which word is the correct word (the word choices are in the parenthesis) for the following sentences...
1. This story is quite (different from, different than) your last one.
2. We will discuss this issue (further, farther) at another time.
3. Alan is the candidate (which, who) I supported for class president.
4. Everyone (accept, except) John agrees with the decision.
5.Valerie goes to the movies more often (than, then) I do.
6.(Due to the fact that, Since) our plane was delayed, we were late.
7.Divide these souvenirs (among, between) the three children.
8. What (affect, effect) does diet have on a person's health?

Last week Kiplinger released its list of the 100 best values in public colleges. Congratulations to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) for being at the top of the list! UNC charges about $4600 for in-state tuition and fees. Kiplinger’s list may be more important than ever considering the average tuition and fees at four-year public colleges have increased by 57% since five years ago. According to this average increase, what would we estimate the cost of in-state tuition and fees for UNC to have been five years ago? Express your answer to the nearest dollar.
