Well, if you get an allowance, I suggest using it to pay off your library fines. If your fine is due to missing books, I suggest you start looking everywhere for them and hopefully finding them. I'd also read off as much of the fines as I possibly could. Eventually, your parents will find out anyway. Usually, librarians send notices home or make phone calls. So, let your parents know now. Always better to get the news from you than from any other way.

These are librarians, they aren't dumb. Secondly, after a book is gone for so long, it is usually catalogued as lost, and your late fees will not exceed the price of the book. So unless you got out a text-book from the library, you probably won't have to pay more that $20 or so. Honestly, it depends on the Library System involved too. For example, I'm from Utah, and the Salt Lake County Library system won't let any late item exceed a fine of $6.00. So you will have to see about them.

You can utilize the library to learn computer systems and hacking. After you've read every book in the library, you should be able to infiltrate the library system, and remove your information, and thus, deleting the fine.
The *ONLY* flaw with this solution is that, if you actually CHECK the books out, you'll probably just incur more fines, and then they'll come after you MUCH sooner than you'll be able to hack the system.
You should probably reduce the fine as much as you can on the days offered to "read off your fines" and make payments on the rest.

I suggest that you consult the head Librarian. If you expain this, maybe she will come up with some suitable ideas - raking leaves, polishing wood shelves, picking up cigarette butts in the parking lot, stuff like that. Telephone and ask for this person and explain the situation.
And tell your parents. Tell your parents. You will not die!!

Ask the librarian if you can do hours of service -- shelving books, sweeping floors, sitting at the Children's Desk, inventory -- in exchange for a reduction in the fines.
