9% of people who apply for Harvard College (Cambridge, Massachusetts) successully get into Harvard as an undergraduate. What is the international student percent? I am from Australia. When does the Harvard/USA year begin, go for a summer break and finish up for the year? If your parents are earning over $100000 (just over) US do your parents receive financial aid as an international student (there are 3 kids in my family...my parents couldn't afford to pay $48000per year for me alone). How much financial aid would we get? Their income will become alot lower (50% less) within a year. They (Harvard) make you list your parents income for the last 3 years..what happens if their income goes to about $60000US a year (for the next few years?)? Would they have to pay much towards the fees even though the previous year it exceeded $100000US.

Please help! I am in a dilemna. I do not know what I should do my social studies project on. I'm interested in the bombing of Hiroshima--it seems like a pretty cool topic. However, I only have 2 weeks to complete it, and would it be too hard to do the bombing of Hiroshima? If so, I would choose the prohibition of alchohol which is only mildly interesting. I would like to know your opinion...the bombing of Hiroshima, or the prohibition of alchohol?

I am appalled at the amount of children who come on to this site for the answers to their homework. They have people working out their maths, re-writing sentences, and answering their questions. That is not the worst of my fears. Earlier today a parent came on here to get help doing his 6 year olds homework. He was asking how many uses does a piece of string have. He then went on to explain it was for his 6 year old daughters homework. He is already teaching his daughter to cheat and just use Yahoo answers. This is a serious issue and is not going to go away.

I was curious. College professors usually only have 17-20 hour work weeks (not including office hours) and I was curious about how much their yearly salary is as opposed to a public or private school teacher working 40 hour work weeks. My mom works for the school and didn't know either when we were discussing it yesterday.

How much does a community college/two year school make compared to a university professor?

And I'm talking about simple things in high school. Simply learning the difference between rational and irrational. Learning that just because an object belongs to a group, it does not mean the group necessarily takes on each property of the object. Learning that "all X is a Y" does not mean that "all Ys are Xs."
There are probably real barriers preventing logic from being a given in our schools. There are also many reasons our children continue to lag behind other industrialized nations.

Does anyone agree that logical thought should be valued? Do you believe we should teach it in highschool? Can we? What factors prevented us from already doing so nationwide?

I have a uni interview on Tuesday for a midwifery degree and I am really struggling with what weaknesses I should use, I would be very grateful for any advice! My weaknesses are i am a terrible speller, i get very nervous when speaking to large groups,I am a bit of a perfectionist, I am very passionate and emotional personal (this is also one of my strengths as i find it very easy to form relationships very quickly and this is vital within midwifery) but i worry how i will cope with death, I am also a very optimistic person and always see the best in every one ( don't know if this should be a weakness or strength) Also should i say that i don't see these things as a weakness more as a part of my personality that would make sone situations more challenging, Thanks for your help xx
