Im saying majoring in Biology could be bad due to the number of applicants with a major in Biology applying to med school. But I love biology and I am really good at it. So should I stick with it? Med schools wont frowned on me and say"another biology major..." would they?

My friend called me and asked me to fill in the blank, and I had the word on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't tell her what it was. I hate it when that happens. In any case, the sentence was something to the extent of this:

Japanese students of some sort of religion (can't remember which) would learn from their mistakes and be a _______ to society.

I want to say something like asset or benefit, but the word I've got on the tip of my tongue isn't one of those. Please help?

I want to know what they looked like and I'm working on a project in which I need to create masks for the scene when Romeo and Juliet meet at the Capulet ball.

It's happened to me twice now...both times it was a leftist professor who wanted to indoctrinate his/her students into an anti-American way of thinking...I refused to buy into the propaganda, and so on the final paper (worth a very large percentage of the final grade) they used the inherent arbitrariness of assigning a grade to a paper to give me a very low grade, which prevented me from getting an "A" in each of these classes...I am sick of it!!!

Hello, I am an American English teacher in Japan. I am teaching middle school English. In Japan we divide students into classes due to academic performance. One of my classes (the lowest class). The students are very non-responsive. I feel that most of this stems from being shy. I have no doubt that these kids are all rather bright as I can see it in their eyes. I am looking for ways to make them more involved and do better in school. I want them to be eager to respond to questions and not shy away when I ask a question. Even if asked in Japanese, they are unresponsive. I've looked up on the net how to deal with shy students but have only found info for individual students (which I am unable to do with so many students). Any one have any info on what I am dealing with or have any other theories (I may be wrong about the shyness), or an idea as to what we can do about a whole classroom of students who just won't work with me? Thank you!
