1) No, a lot of pre-med students do not double major because that takes more time (credit-hours) than a single major and most premeds are in a rush to get into medical school -- sometimes skipping a few critical social development steps along the way.

2) Minors are more likely. Depending on the minor, that could be 4-8 classes outside of the classes required for your major. So usually they'll pick up one of the 4 class ones, like Psychology or Sociology.

3) For each major, you can only have one minor. So you can have two majors and two minors but at that point it looks like you're trying too hard... plus, in the time it takes to get that you could have picked up a Master's degree, which would have been more attractive than two minors and another major.

4) Whatever you're willing to commit to time-wise is what sounds reasonable. I'm double-majoring with a minor and getting a 1-year graduate degree in Biomedical Science, but that's for numerous reasons that are unrelated to your question.

Good luck!

Very few pre-med students can handle the workload of two majors while trying to get the grades to get into med school.

A minor is the reasonable way to go if you're genuinely interested in another subject. You can always ramp it up to a major if you do well.

However, you're going to be old enough by the time you're done with all the schooling and training. Most people don't think it's worth the time or the GPA risk to do all that. Not when they need extra currics as well.

happening what Marie stated in her very last paragraph; reckoning on your causes for needing a minor, personally i might want to opt for taking 4-5 classes that weren't coated below my significant yet that i think might want to help in making the first few years of Med. college a lot less puzzling. A&P isn't required below any Biology software i have regarded at (i'm a Bio. significant myself) so as that could be an staggering direction to get below your belt in the previous Med. college, minor or no longer. also, reckoning on what you pick to do consisting of your medical degree, you may evaluate a second direction in organic and organic chemistry. maximum Bio. majors in consumer-friendly words require the first O-Chem direction. good success! **Edit** for what some different person referred to. protecting your GPA up could be a accurate priority too even as finding out on a minor or supplementary classes. A&P might want to be large to benefit, in spite of the undeniable fact that it really is (imho) the hardest undergraduate survey direction accessible, with o-chem an in intensity second.
