Very few young people willing to entertain the idea of going to med school. You are among the few precious folks interested in med school.
I say you have a 100% chance to get in: you already have the will, that's more than 50% !!
You do need good GPA in a good college, but try not in pre-med. Take EE or ChE or something while moonlighting some biology elections before graduate.
With your non pre-med background, your chance will be enhanced among the pre-med candidates.
Also, after you take the MCAT, you should submit to as many schools as possible. This will also increase your chance.
I remember the average acceptance rate is 56% and that actually is a very optimistic possibility.
Good luck and be a doctor one day !!

You still have a very good chance, especially if you have other activities. GPA is not the only thing colleges look at. If you took hard classes, had a decent SAT score and had other hobbies, I would be confident that you would get it. By the way, 3.0 is not horrible, colleges probable will not care to much about a 3.0 in your freshman year.

Honestly, high school GPA means nothing. It's the college GPA that is really going to count. So don't even worry that much about it right now. Besides, they look at more than just GPA for med school... such as your MCATs, recommendations, etc. So you can't tell everything just from a high school GPA

I guess it would be pretty good. If you take crappy classes and get a great grade like me, you probably won't get in. But if you actually take honors classes(unlike what I did), then you probably will get in. I took all the easy computer classes and gym class my senior year. I took economics and realized that the high school level economics is easy.
College is a lot different. They don't care if you fail.

High school grades mean little. Keep up a GPA of 3.7+ in college and you should have no problem getting into med school.

Not a whole lot without a college degree
unless you're doing one of those BA/MD programs
in which case you'd have to contact the school you were interested in (Brown has a good program for that)

Focus on getting into a good college first and then work your butt off there. Med schools don't care that much about high school

Hell Yea! Dont give up and 3.5 is not that bad.... Ive also found that once you start to study somn you are interested in, you do way better, so high school doesnt have too much affect on how you do what you really want to do.

Excellent so far. Should help you get into a good college. The grades you get in your 1st 4 years of college will be really key.
