--Heather Whitestone (Miss Alabama) in the 1994 Miss USA contest.

"Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff."

I think we should have a religious studies class in schools that is not specific to any one religion.
When I went to school, we were taught all about God & Jesus, and very little about any other religion.
Perhaps it should be left up to the parents to teach their children about their own religion, and schools should give them information about all religions. I think it would help to get rid of religious intolerance.

U.S. is considered one of the technologically advanced countries in the world, and as such, is target for intelligence gathering and tecnological/economic espionage. At the same time, universities are always trying to form partnerships across the world and attract foreign students into engineering and other fields involving technology. Where does the alturistic goal of sharing knowledge start to conflict with the desire to keep technological advances at home? Can these two goals co-exist? What do you think?

I was taught that the world spins around the sun at a tilt and that is how we have different seasons and days get shorter or longer etc. Now because it tilts and the way it rotates, if it is winter here and cold here, would it be warm and summer on the other side of the world?

Apathy

Apathy is the color of old spaghetti
It sounds like the phone’s dial tone.
It tastes like bland, spongy tofu.
It smells like dirty socks.
It looks like an impermeable shield
Apathy made him feel safe.

Apathy is a colorless liquid
It sounds like the sizzle of fire
It tastes like corrosive acid.
It smells pungent, prickling his nose.
It looks like a volcano about to explode.
Apathy couldn’t last forever.

Apathy is the color of blood.
It sounds like gunfire.
It tastes like anger and death.
It smells like a rotting corpse.
It looks like chaos and destruction.
Finally free, he emerged from the ashes.

Here is my story:
A while back, I recieved a card and one of my favorite too! Behold, I will tell you what they wrote me. Christ was born on this special day. Delight and joy was felt by all. Everyone wanted to see God's son. From the Shepards to Zacharia it was divine. Goodness is felt by those who share this day. Helping each other. Instilling traditions for families to pass down.
Jolly old St. Nick comes in to play too. Kids and adults ride on a sleigh. Lots of families enjoying the day. Many presents being opened with glee. Not without love from your family.
Open arms for neighbors too. Partake in Christmas from all of us to you.
Here are the words:
Accommodations
Feverishly
Indefinitely
Novelty
Prophecy
Tribute Unvanquished, Deficient, Converge, Evasive, Divulge
Intervention, Deprive, Ignorant, Prodigy, Intensive
please help me!! I would apprieticate it!!

Ok, so I have one teacher (one, not a bunch) that wants a doctor's note for me being absent and skipping his final. The good thing is that I really was sick, and I visited her BUT I forgot to ask for a note. Yes, I realize that was very idiotic of me, but most of the teachers are fine without it (and so was he in the past) so I was nothing short of SHOCKED when he asked for it today so I can take the finals tomorrow.

My doctor would not return until the 27th out of vacation reasons, and the teacher wants the note by tomorrow!!! How can I possibly get through this fiasco! D:
