What are socioeconomic factors ?
I am doing a book report and it's asking for the socioeconomic factors of where the book takes place and i have no clue what socioeconomic factors are. The book is Going for the Record.

Question for current teachers:
I recently graded student papers for my class and I was surprised at the amount of errors in their work. This is a college level class. While it is not an English class, they need to demonstrate appropriate English usage. How flexible should I be when grading their papers?? The errors were in almost every category: proper captialization, verb conjuncation, grammar, punctuation and spelling?? And how much should I deduct for these types of errors?

A good friend got his Bachelor's in History a couple of years ago, and this semester acheived his credential to teach. So no more substitute teacher, he is now a full-fledged history teacher.
My question is, what to get him as a congrats gift.
I was thinking of a name plate, as he has mentioned it & doesn't have one.
What exactly would I put on it? " Mr. (first initial, last name ) " and that's it? or should I leave out the first initial and only last name? Also do I put his title, " History teacher " or leave it out?
Teachers out there, or friends and family of teachers, help me out with this please.
Also, throw at me any other ideas as a gift. Thanks in advance.
