I've never got this saying! It seems to make no sense! Even my mother who said it the other day actually admitted to not knowing what it means!

We're both wondering where this phrase came from...

I completed high school in the UK but left before doing A-Levels. I want to go to study to a University in France but I am not sure if I need a 'Baccalaureate' Degree (International or French) before I can go on to do a Bachelor's. If yes, are there any places where I can prepare for the Baccalaureate in France? I am 18 years old and I have an intermediate level in French. I know it well but have trouble speaking it so I thought it would be wiser to move to France and study it there.
Does anyone have experience with French Unis?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you.

Hi, guys. I need the answers to the following two equations or, at least, how you would go about solving them. Every one MUST be done by factoring, you can't use the quadratic equation or any other method, sadly.

x^2 - 8x = 0 How can I solve it without a 'c' term?

and

2x^2 + 4x - 30 = 0

I narrowed down the factors to 6 and -10 (since the multiply to -30 and add to 4) but when I FOIL the answers I got it doesn't come out correctly. My answers, by the way:

(x + 6) (x - 10)

I also tried (2x + 6) (x - 10) but that didn't work either. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated!

I'm a young stay at home mom and my boyfriend is the only one working to support us soon. Pretty soon I'll be starting school to become an LVN. But I have two choices that I can't decide on. I could attend this vocational school to become an LVN..its a 14 month program where I don't have to take any prerequisites but it costs 20,000 just for those 14 months. Or I could attend a community college where it would take me about 3 years to become an LVN and it only cost $2,000. I really need the money because I can't just depend on my boyfriend forever for all of our expenses. Put yourself in my situation. And for moms answering this question what would you do in my situation?
