I have 2 sons studying in 3rd and 7th grades. We are staying in saudi. They ahve been asked by their schools to enroll for an National science talent search examination, would like to know what this is? Is is useful for them and what would the model of the examination. Would also want to know if there are any sites which give any online training or is there any place from where i could have the questions downloaded. What subjects would they have to prepare for ? Please help

I was browsing here, and found the earlier question about what Harvard looks for. Most of the people who replied said they wanted famous people, or people with famous parents, or people who had families of Harvard alumni. I'm willing to believe that the bit about being famous is an exaggeration, but hasn't Harvard got a reputation for its academic quality? Why would they look at anything past grades and extracurriculars?

If my question seems dumb, excuse my ignorance; I am a highschool freshman attending a public highschool, and aiming for an Ivy League school or the equivalent. My family isn't rolling in dough; to put it briefly, how many middle-class students actually get accepted into Ivy-type schools?

how can i improve my knowledge about computer hardware,

i am currently attending st. thomas aquinas college, it is a small private school in sparkill new york which not many people have heard of. i want to know if the fact that stac is not a well known ivy league school will limit my chances in the journalism field which i am considering going into. please be honest with me, brutally if need be.
